My first golden nugget

Greetings!  Welcome to my first blog post!  I'm all about offering golden nuggets - the kind that make you love your numbers and want to work with them instead of handing them off to the bookkeeper.  

When I started coaching I did not want anybody to know I was an educated accountant.  I was burned out.  And then, slowly, I learned from my business owner clients that I had a gift.  I could look at anybody's financials and in 20 minutes help them solve problems that had been bugging them.  Problems their own accountants could not explain.  And I could do it in Plain English that made sense.  

This was when accounting started to be fun again for me - and this is what I want to get started for you.  The reality is that if you know your numbers you will have more confidence in your business results, your financial reports, and your decisions on what to buy and what price to charge.  And this leads to a sense of peace and freedom - having your finances under your own control instead of the IRS or your tax pro. Every Entrepreneur needs to master their numbers so they cannot be stolen from or taken advantage of.

I have  so many golden nuggets to choose  from it's hard to choose which one to start with.  So let me start with this one.  Look at your numbers once a month at least.  If you have a financial report that compares this year's result to last year's result, run that report.  And then figure out what changed between this year and last.  If you feel your books are messed up, that's the time to reach out to me, your plain English numbers girl!  I'll demystify them in 20 minutes and set you back on the right path.
